Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is Mandatory (taxable)
Purchase of Cdw reduces the renter's liability (NWE) in case of damage to the Avis vehicle as as result of an accident, vandalism or theft.  The maximum non-waivable excess (NWE) is 1,000.00 USD.  Purchase of CDW does not cover damage to tires, fines or towing charges.  If CDW is declined, the customer may be responsible for up to the full value of the car.

Theft Protection (TP) is included in the purchase of CDW.  theft which occurs due to customers negligence (not locking vehicle or securing keys) is not covered.

Avis Tortola accepts Avis Charge Cards, MasterCard, Diner's Club, Eurocard, Visa and Barclay.  An additional charge card hold will apply.  The hold will be the estimated cost of rental, plus 1,000.00 USD if LDW is accepted or 4,000.00 USD if LDW is declined.

Debit cards are only accepted for final payment.

At the time of rental, the driver must present a valid driver's license in the driver's name from their country of residence.  Customers presenting a driver's license in a non-Roman alphabet must also present an International Driving Permit (IDP) to serve as a translation in addition to their valid drivers license.

Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country.  Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.

Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles.  The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental.  Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.

The minimum age is 25 with avis honored charge cards or travel vouchers.  There is no maximum age.

Approximate total includes base rate, taxes, and surcharges. Items such as coupon discounts, child safety seats, local drivers permit and gas are NOT included in the estimated total. Optional coverages and one-way fees are subject to tax in certain locations. This tax is not reflected in the Estimated Total.
