Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is optional
Customer is liable for the full value of the Avis vehicle if CDW is not purchased.  If CDW is purchased, the renter's liability is reduced to an amount ranging from 1000.00 EUR to 3000.00 EUR, depending on the car group rented. 

Theft Protection (TP) is optional
Customer is liable for the full value of the Avis vehicle if TP is not purchased.  If TP is purchased, the renter's liability is reduced to an amount ranging from 1800.00 EUR to 9500.00 EUR, depending on the car group rented. 

Note: If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess.  Just ask at the Avis rental desk when you collect your car.

Avis Hungary accepts Avis Charge Cards, American Express, MasterCard / Eurocard, Visa.
Visa Electron and Cirrus Maestro are not accepted.

Debit cards are accepted.
Prepaid debit cards are not accepted (even if they carry the Visa or Mastercard logo)

At the time of rental, the driver must present a valid driver's license in the driver's name from their country of residence.  Customers presenting a driver's license in a non-Roman alphabet must also present an International Driving Permit (IDP) to serve as a translation in addition to their valid drivers license.

Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country.  Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.

Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles.  The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental.  Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.

If you need to return your vehicle out of opening hours, you can drop your keys in our secure box (return box). This service is available at our airport and downtown offices.

At this location the minimum age is 21 for all car groups, except for the following: minimum age is 25 for car groups E and K (Intermediate), F and O (Full Size), G (Premium), H (Mini Van), M (Mini Bus), N (Intermediate Wagon), and P (Full Size Wagon).  

Young driver fee: For renters 21 to 24 EUR 10.16 per day, maximum 15 day charge.

Approximate total includes base rate, taxes, and surcharges. Road Fund Tax is NOT included in the estimated total. RFT charge is EUR 4,45 (incl. VAT) / day (max. 10 days charged up to 1600cc, max. 20 days charged over 1600cc).  Items such as coupon discounts, child safety seats, winterization fee from 01Nov - 31Mar and gas are NOT included in the estimated total. Optional coverages and one-way fees are subject to tax in certain locations. This tax is not reflected in the Estimated Total.
Estimated total is subject to change based upon exchange rates at the time of rental.

Rented cars are delivered with full tank of petrol. By returning the car in case of missing fuel (4.45 EUR/liter) it will be charged with refuelling service fee (16.51 EUR, VAT included) together.
