Avis Chile accepts Avis Charge Cards, American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard and Visa. At the time of rental, there will be a charge card hold which varies depending on the car group rented. If CDW is accepted, the charge card hold is the estimated rental charges plus 400,000 CHP or 600,000 CHP depending on car group rented. If CDW is declined, the charge card hold is the estimated rental charges plus 3,000,000 CHP.
Note: All customers paying with American Express or Visa cards may not be required to leave a deposit, if the local charge card company representative confirms CDW coverage on the vehicle rented.
Debit cards are not accepted.
At the time of rental, the driver must present a valid driver's license in the driver's name from their country of residence. Customers presenting a driver's license in a non-Roman alphabet must also present an International Driving Permit (IDP) to serve as a translation in addition to their valid drivers license.
Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country. Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.
Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles. The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental. Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.
