Optional Coverages

COLLISION DAMAGE WAVER -CDW

Purchase of Collision Damage Waiver limits renter's liability to the amount of Non-Waivable Excess, if rental vehicle gets damaged. If Collision Damage Waiver is not already included in the rental price, you can purchase it at the counter.
What do I have to pay if I don't have Damage Waiver?
If you don't purchase SCDW and If the vehicle, keys, any accessories or any vehicle documents are damaged during your rental, unless you can prove the damage was not in any way your fault or due to your negligence, you will have to pay:

  • Either the cost of replacement, or the estimated repair costs - whichever is cheaper for each clearly separate incident of damage
  • Plus our loss of use, including an on the ground vehicle idle time fee
  • Plus a damage processing fee

the procedure indicating the loss of use and the damage processing fee is available at our locations.

Theft Protection (TP) 

Vehicle Theft Cover limits renter's liability to the amount of Non-Waivable Excess for total or partial loss of the car. If Vehicle Theft Cover is not already included in the rental price, you can purchase it at the counter.
You must declare theft to the police.

Additional Insurance Cover

Purchase of Super Cover Damage Waiver (SCDW) removes completely the Non-Waivable Excess in case of damage.

Purchase of Super Theft Protection (STP) removes completely the Non-Waivable Excess in case of theft.

Super Cover is available only when basic Collision Damage Waiver and Vehicle Theft cover are already purchased.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is optional

Personal Accident Insurance provides accidental death and medical expense benefits to the renter and all passengers on the Avis car. If PAI s not already included in the rental price, you can purchase it at the counter.
If you sign for the Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) you may be covered for the physical damages and death consecutive to a traffic accident arisen during the rental period. According to the local legislation, the maximum allowance in the event of death is MAD. 20.000.-(Twenty Thousands Moroccan Dirhams).
If you sign for the Super Personal Accident Insurance (Super PAI) the maximum allowance in case of death is MAD. 40.000.- (Forty Thousands Moroccan Dirhams).

WINDSCREEN PROTECTION

Windscreen Protection reduces the amount you have to pay if the windscreen is damaged to zero.

ROADSIDE ASSISATNCE - RSN
Roadside Assistance Plus provides roadside assistance if you break down as a result of:

  • Flat batteries
  • Flat tires
  • Keys locked in the vehicle
  • Running out of fuel
  • Misfuelling

You will only need to pay for the costs of any additional items needed to get the vehicle back on the road - like fuel or tires.

PROTECTION PACKAGE
The Complete Protection Package covers the vehicle with ZERO excess, including windscreen and extended roadside assistance. It covers the driver and the passengers for a complete peace of mind. The price depends on the vehicle.

The driver remains fully responsible for the vehicle until it is actually returned to Avis and its condition has been checked. The lessor disclaims all liability for costs that may be incurred following damage and/or loss of documents and/or accessories in the vehicle observed in the absence of the customer.

Global insurance coverages are always subject to change. Please verify at time of rental.

Note: If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess.  Just ask at the Avis rental desk when you collect your car.


Credit Card Policies

Avis accepts the Avis Charge Card, American Express, MasterCard and Visa.

At the time of pickup we will :
-Debit your card for the estimated rental price to be paid at the counter
-And we will proceed to a preautorization as a deposit. The amount of this deposit (hold amount) is the excess in case of theft which varies between 15,500 MAD and 30,000 according to the booked car if protection package is not purchased (SCDW and STP), if you purchased the protection package, the hold amount will be 2000 MAD.
While this hold is in place the funds will not be available for your use. When the rental is over we will process the reversal but the bank may take time to post it back to the account.

Cash payment is not allowed.


Debit Card Policies

Debit cards are not accepted.


Drivers License

At the time of rental, the driver must present a valid driver's license in the driver's name from their country of residence.  Customers presenting a driver's license in a non-Roman alphabet must also present an International Driving Permit (IDP) to serve as a translation in addition to their valid drivers license.


Public Liability and Property Damage

Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country.  Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.

Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles.  The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental.  Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.


Age Requirements

The primary renter and any Additional driver must be at least 25 years old.

Collecting and Returning Your Vehicle

If you fail to pick up your vehicle within 2 hours the reservation date and time shown in your booking, and without any prior notice, we can no longer guarantee the availability of the vehicle
If you want to extend the rental or wish to return the vehicle to a different location please contact us as soon as possible. At the latest, this should be before the end date and time on your rental agreement. You will be advised whether the change is possible and any additional costs when you call.
If you extend your rental you will be charged the prevailing pay at location prices for the extra days.
If you return the vehicle to a different location then you agreed to at time of rental your rate could default to a different rate and a one way fee will be applied.

Fuel Policy

The vehicle will be supplied with a full tank of fuel. You must return it to us with a full tank. We recommend you fill up as close to the return location as you can on the return date and keep the receipt to show us. If you don't return the vehicle with a full tank - and you can't show us a receipt for fuel - we will charge you at the price of 21 MAD per litre plus the cost of refuelling the car for you of 500 MAD.
You can choose the Fuel Up Front option. With this option you pay for a full tank of fuel for 18 MAD per litre. Then you just return the vehicle with whatever's left in the tank (even if it's virtually empty) so long as the engine still runs.
