Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is Optional
Customer is liable for full value of the Avis vehicle if Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not taken.  Purchase of CDW reduces liability to an amount between 500.00 USD and 1,000.00 USD depending on car group rented in the event of an accident, theft, or vandalism to the Avis vehicle.

Theft Protection (TP) is included in the CDW  

Note:  If you require additional insurance coverage you may purchase locally to reduce/remove the insurance excess.  Just ask at the Avis rental desk when you collect your car.

Avis Bahamas accepts Avis Charge Cards, American Express, Discover Card, Mastercard, Visa.  An additional charge card hold will apply to all car groups, which consists of the cost of the rental plus 20% or a minimum of 300.00 USD.

Debit cards are not accepted.

At the time of rental, the driver must present a valid driver's license in the driver's name from their country of residence.  Customers presenting a driver's license in a non-Roman alphabet must also present an International Driving Permit (IDP) to serve as a translation in addition to their valid drivers license.

Public liability insurance is in accordance with the insurance laws of the country.  Customer may inquire at the time of rental for additional information of the benefits, conditions and acceptance.

Note: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles.  The customer is advised to contact the card issuer before the rental.  Any waiver must be discussed directly with the location upon arrival.

Minimum age: 25 years with Avis and Avis-honored charge cards. Minimum age 21 with Avis honored travel vouchers. Maximum age: There is no maximum age.
Underage fee will apply for drivers 21-24. Cost: 5.00 USD per day, taxable.

NOTE: The minimum age for car groups Luxury, SUVs and pickup is 25 for all renters, even with a travel voucher.
