Visit the Trail End State Historic Site, a mansion completed in 1913 that was once the home of the area’s wealthiest cattle rancher, and the Sheridan County Museum to learn more about the city’s frontier roots. Visit the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument, an hour north in neighboring Montana. It was the site of Custer’s Last Stand in June 1876, when a group of native tribes defeated General Custer and the US Army’s 7th Calvary.
