That depends on where you need to go. The SLC Airport is laid out in a sort of zigzag shape, so to walk from the front of the terminal (right after you pass through security) to the furthest gate in Concourse B is a 15- to 20-minute walk.
TSA guidelines recommend that passengers be two hours early for domestic flights and three hours early for international flights. If you need to return a rental car, give yourself additional time. Twenty to thirty minutes of extra time to return your car should be appropriate in most cases.
Currently, the SLC airport only has one terminal. That terminal has two concourses, A and B. There are plans to add at least two more concourses, C and D, and eventually perhaps even another terminal.
