Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) is Optional for all vehicles *except on group G (Luxury SUV), group K (Full-size Pickup Truck Ext Cab), group L (Premium Elite SUV), and group M (Intermediate Van).
*Exception: LDW is MANDATORY on group G (Luxury SUV), group K (Full-size Pickup Truck Ext Cab), group L (Premium Elite SUV), and group M (Intermediate Van) unless the customer can provide written proof of the coverage presented at the counter at the time of rental (see below for additional details**.) Deductible on these car groups ranges between 800.00 USD to 1500.00 USD.
All other vehicles purchase of LDW reduces liability to zero in the event of an accident, fire or theft to the Avis vehicle provided customer complies with the terms and conditions of the agreement. Theft Protection (TP) is included in the LDW.
If LDW is declined, and the rental incurs a loss due to damage or theft, the renter may be liable for up to the full replacement value of the vehicle.
**NOTE: Some credit cards provide insurance coverage, with certain limitations, as a benefit of using the card to rent vehicles. The customer is advised to contact the credit card company before the rental and MUST get written proof on official letterhead noting that they will specifically extend LDW coverage. This letter MUST be presented at the counter at the time of rental. Waivers must be discussed directly with the agent at the location upon arrival.
Thefts that occur due to customer negligence (not locking vehicle or securing keys) is not covered. If additional protection coverage is required to reduce/remove the insurance excess, inquire at the Avis desk when you collect your car. In all cases, customers must present a police report and describe exactly how the event occurred, in any incidents to receive coverage. If not, the coverage will be inactive and the customer will have to pay the total damages. Damage shown in the unit must match what was described in the record.

Loss of Use - Covers the time the vehicle is being repaired when the location can not rent out the vehicle. The customer must check with the counter on pricing and for additional details at time of checkout.
Super Coverages - Not available.
Partial Damage Waiver (PDW) - offered at the rental counter with a deductible. The customer must check with the counter on pricing and for additional details at time of checkout.
Windshield and Tire Damage Waiver (WDW) - Covers the tires and the front windshield of the rental vehicle. This protection has no deductible. The customer must request conditions, rates and acceptance at the time of checkout. .
Theft Protection (TP) is not available.
