How to Earn Airpoints Dollars With Avis

To earn Airpoints Dollars on Avis car and truck rental, add your Airpoints number at time of booking.

Booking online or on the Avis App

Using avis.co.nz, on step 4 of the booking process, enter your Airpoints number under the Earn Frequent Travel Programme Points/Miles section.
When using the Avis app, click ‘Add Travel Partner Information’ and enter your Airpoints number.

Booking via the Avis Reservations phone line

Call Avis on 0800 247 284 (0800 AIR AVIS) or +64 9 526 3285 and provide your Air New Zealand Airpoints membership number.

Automatically add your Airpoints number to your next booking

You can save your Airpoints number, to your Avis Preferred profile to automatically earn points and speed up the booking process with each reservation.

Go to Partner Rewards
Provide your Airpoints membership details in the Airline section.

HOW TO PAY WITH AIRPOINTS DOLLARS

Airpoints members can use Airpoints Dollars to book and pay for Avis car rental.

Members residing in New Zealand

You can use Airpoints Dollars to pay for Avis car rentals in New Zealand and select locations around the globe.

Sign in to your Airpoints account on the Air New Zealand website and proceed to the car rental section. Enter your rental details and follow the prompts. On step 4 remember to select the 'Pay With Airpoints' option.

Members residing outside of New Zealand

Members residing outside of New Zealand, need to make a manual booking with the Air New Zealand contact centre. Bookings can only be made for car rental in New Zealand.

Rewards programme points will be awarded on eligible rentals.
Airpoints Dollars may not be earned on staff, discount, free, net wholesale, certain corporate or travel industry rates.
No earn on rentals redeemed using Airpoints Dollars. This includes any extensions made to a redemptions booking, whether paid for using Airpoints Dollars or covered by the renter.
Earn Airpoints Dollars at any one of our Avis locations in New Zealand, Australia or the Pacific, or from participating Avis locations worldwide.
Only one points programme may be nominated per rental and the renter name must be the same as the membership name of that particular programme.
Member must quote their Airpoints membership number when making a reservation, or show their membership card at the counter when collecting their vehicle. (If your membership number has already been linked to an Avis profile, then this is not necessary).
Your airline flight ticket or boarding pass is not required to earn Airpoints Dollars with Avis.
